At This Time of Year

Before you begin the movie, please turn off the sidebar player. Thank you! Happy Holidays everyone! The Wackies have so much to be thankful for......with all our families and friends and all of our blogging buddies. This year has flown by and was filled with great activities, projects, swaps, purchases, some triumphs and a few losses.  I wanted to take a moment to remember our girlfriend, Jerri who passed away nine months ago.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her or laugh at something she said or did.  Jerri was such a large part of my life.  She was the sister I never had, the best friend and traveling buddy and she gave great advice, too.  Jerri was the life of the party and I'm so blessed to have known her. Above is a little movie I made to share with our group a little after Jerri passed away.  It's a snippet of her antics and love of living. I'm sharing it with you in the hopes that it will lift your spirits, make you laugh or just spr

Thread Trouble

Kathy found this great article about thread problems on Stitch Fun so we wanted to share it with everyone. With all the new threads out there, pre-wound bobbins, not to mention needles with all their different qualities, it can get very confusing as to what is going on inside our machines and bobbin area.  We hope this little article helps.

Butterflies Are Free

Look at this fabulous scrappy quilt.  It's a great way to get rid of use up some of your scraps.  The tutorial can be found HERE .......enjoy!

Great Tutorial

Nancy over at "With Thread In Hand" has a great tutorial on a STAR.  I've been thinking about making this particular star but the instructions were always confusing but Nancy has ironed out all the glitches and done a great job of tell everyone what not to do. Pop over to her blog and read all about it. You might mention that the WACKIES sent you there....just for fun!

Bridge & Wackies

Jerri was always trying to get her Bridge and Wackies friends together.  It finally happened. We'll always treasure the times we shared with our friend, Jerri.

Wacky Pac Quilters

Today the quilting world lost a prolific and talented quilter. Our dear Wacky Pac Sista, Jerri, lost her battle with cancer. She was such a 'trooper' and defied the odds so many times. She passed peacefully in her sleep at approximately 5 a.m. this morning. Jerri was the life of the party. She was a fine Christian woman who loved the Lord. She also loved life, loved her family and friends and loved quilting. She was always just a phone call away....she had "Peeps" always available to help in any situation. Jerri leaves behind a wonderful husband, Rex, who was a true angel. He never left her side. A son and daughter-in-law and two beautiful little granddaughters. She also leaves a whole host of friends who will miss her dearly. My friend, I'll be seeing you on the other side one day. Put in a 'good word' for me with the Big Guy and tell my Mama I said I miss and love her. I can't wait to see all the beautiful quilts you will make in Heave

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!

Have you ever wanted to make a Feathered Star???? Our Wacky, Molly , is very good at making them and was even a tester for Marsha McCloskey. She worked on the block at a retreat and we kept hearing "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha"! I guess you had to be there -- LOL. I have stumbled across this blog with detailed instructions and thought some of you may be interested in taking a 'gander' at this person's blog .

Which one do I use?????

Do you ever get confused on which needle to use for certain types of sewing???? If so, Feeling Stitching has posted a great article on needles over at her blog. Go over and take a look -- very interesting.
Go over to Molly's Place and check out her new BOM "Tree Time".  Molly is one of our very talented Wacky Sisters.   http://sewhappy10000.blogspot.com/

Did Someone Say Football?????

Since we are in the midst of the SuperBowl, here is a really good dip recipe that Wacky Kathleen shares: Beer Cheese Dip 1 pkg (8oz) Cream Cheese, softened 1/4 cup Ranch Dressing 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese 1/4 cup Beer 2 Green Onions, chopped Beat cream cheese and dressing in medium bowl w/mixer until well blended. Stir in remaining ingredients. Refrigerate for serveral hours or until chilled. If you like a little "kick" to your dips, add some jalepeno peppers or green chilies.

A Wacky Tutorial

Don't miss the Fractured Diamond Tutorial over that Ravelly1's blog . This quilt is easy with lots of movemnt (3 points of interest.....stars, diamonds and circles) and no seams to match.

Catfish and Laughter

Pay no attention to the guy between Jerri and Molly.  He's not real.......LOL.....but we won't mention it to them! Some of the Wackies got together for catfish dinner and plenty of laughter.  At the last minute, we decided to document the fun.
